Inspired early on by eclectic parental musical interests ranging from classical and musicals to light pop, Lisa aspired to be Judy Garland, Julie Andrews, and Barbara Streisand all rolled into one! Throughout high school and college, Lisa trained in vocal arts and performed with various choirs, ensembles, and folk rock music groups a la Joni Mitchell, Dan Fogelberg, Simon & Garfunkel, and CSNY. She also had a strong proclivity for Heart, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, and Pink Floyd.
Two worlds collided when Lisa and her folky friends met a talented hard rock guitarist and they jammed on her favorite tune by Heart – Barracuda. The cover band Fleeting Heart was born amidst Lisa’s growing passion for writing and recording original music. FH later regrouped with old and new band mates to form the wonderful Syrens Band. In the interim, Lisa met a new bunch of highly talented musicians lead by guitarist, writer and producer, Gary Belniak. Gary worked with Lisa in the studio, co-writing and producing some of her songs. She began sharing the stage with two of Gary’s bands, Pickled Beats and Heebie Jeebies while collaborating on original tunes. This leads us to the present day collection of inspirational musicians of LUKARA, performing a glorious melange of original music and re-imaginings of favorite tunes.
Lisa is delighted to work with the international charity, Harmony For Change, motivated to challenge and explore the injustices in the world...and try to do something about them by opening eyes and ears! She was also honored to record and perform backing vocals for Sandra Lee Troutman's debut CD, Littlefield.
Lisa’s greatest musical joy is performing original songs with a kick ass band of infinitely talented friends in front of a live audience...and having the audience sing along with us!
